Where To Buy Chinese or Japanese Paper Lanterns?

Just a quick post before I went back on article writing on Xomba . ^-^'

For those searching on where to buy Japanese or Chinese lanterns for parties and gardens, I might help on where as I had just bought 3 Chinese lanterns for 3 bucks. Yeah, 3 bucks for 3 as I got those Chinese lanterns from the Dollar Tree store as everything is only a $1.

So where to try finding or where to buy Chinese paper lanterns around San Diego for a cheaper price? Search and visit a Dollar Tree if there's one in your area.

Actually, my dad and I are about ready to go to the register when this lady passed by and I had glanced into her basket and saw this lanterns and was like, " wait a minute... those items looks familiar to me." So I went and decided to check onto the farthest aisle where art and craft are displayed and see if I can find lanterns as I've been wanting to have those since about almost 2 years ago. Would be great for gardens. :)

Those I got from the Dollar Tree store are battery operated by the way and they are made of papers. When I got home I decided to open and try one of the lanterns. So be CAREFUL as I had said these lanterns are made of paper. I tried to open this one Chinese/Japanese lantern (they are folded) and I had teared or made a tiny hole because of the glue or paste. I just hoped that the lantern makers let the glue or paste dry first before folding the lanterns as the papers are kinda thin and sticks together.

Anyway, aside from that. It works well. There's an "on and off"  button. So if you gonna hang those lanterns on the garden, don't leave them overnight as they might be wet from dew the following morning. Or it might rain, you won't know.

I just want to make an update, on where else can you buy lanterns? I mean around San Diego area. If you are in San Diego area you may want to visit Marukai Living San Diego. There are three three Marukai buildings side by side. I found the lantern photos below from Marukai Living building. Prices ranges from $6+ and up. I wish I remember the exact price but I knew it is less than $10 as I was so tempted to buy one. But I did not since I already got some from Marukai Value Plus, and it's cheaper.

Above photo is taken from Marukai Living. While the one below is from Marukai Value Plus.

For $1.50, its a good buy. And I love it! It uses 2 AAA batteries and the light flickers, like a candle light does. It is good on parties and even just hanging them in the garden at night. I bought them because I've been thinking of having them around so I could use them as Halloween decor outside, and I could also hang them on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. I did used about 5 lanterns last Christmas, 2012 on the front porch but had brought them back inside after midnight. It is cold and I am afraid the paper will soften and tear. But on Summer nights, they would make a good addition to a garden's ambience.

Where To Find Elf Ears

If you are looking on where to buy elf ears, I suggest going to Ebay. I have search online for elf ears and been to cosplay forums and had visited few online cosplay custom stores but I found Ebay to be the first choice as it is, I think is cheaper.

I had also been searching on where to get elf ears (just for fun) as I think it is way cool to own a pair, take a picture and post it as my Facebook profile image. :) Would be fun!

Anyway, the reason I had come up with this "having or wearing elf ears" came from the Philippine GMA channel series titled Dwarfina. There's this two characters that I really like their elven ears, really cute, and that's when I started wanting on having a pair. ^-^'

So yeah, I found elf ears on Ebay and deciding to buy those elf ears when I probably receive my Ehow earnings for May as I still have much important items to purchase.

Here's links to two elf ears I like

This is the elf ears on the first link, appears to be more natural.

Sprouting Fenugreek Seeds

I used to drink fenugreek seeds. But it is the sprouting of seeds that I don't have success of doing after following "how to sprout fenugreek seeds" I had read online. I had attemptee sprouting fenugreek seeds and failed many times, molds showing up few days after the sprouts showed up.

But that doesn't stopped me from trying. I decided to sprout fenugreek seeds the way I used to sprout mung bean seeds. And I had success with it.

So here you go, the way I do it.

Steps on how to sprout fenugreek seeds:
You will need:
warm water
used face towel
styrofoam meat tray (these are the ones used on the meat you buy and this is the one I used) or use plate instead

1. Soak the seeds in warm water for few hours or until water turns cold.

2. Wet the used face towel and lay it on the styrofoam meat tray or on the plate.

3. Scatter the fenugreek seeds on the towel and sprinkle water on them.

DON'T FORGET to check on your fenugreek seeds. Make sure the towel is always damp by sprinkling water on it when you think it needs too, until the sprouts emerge.

You can also try to cover the seeds with damp paper towel and make sure it is damp always.

Happy sprouting! ^-^'

Where To Shop For Cheaper Products

I decided to make this post because yesterday my dad asked me to drive him and visit a thrifty store here in National City, so we went. The thrifty store looks good and nice but there's only few customers, about less than 10 at the time were there.

Anyway, so we went out and decided to go inside the Dollar Tree store nearby, it looks inviting. And we enjoyed our time looking around inside. I can't even believe it's "everything a dollar." Table napkins, sodas, plastic plates, spoons and forks. Even cleansers and dish washing soaps are only $1.

So if you are on a really tight budget, I suggest you search and visit a Dollar Tree store in your area. You can find household products and groceries in there in way cheaper prices. Though I noticed brand name products like Dove soap wasn't in there, even the Swiffer pads too, I was looking for both products as I need to get some.

Another stuffs available in the store I wish I have stocks of are gift bags and greeting  cards! And they look pretty too. I remember at times either one in our family needs one and we can't find a gift bag at home.

So if you're searching on where to do grocery shopping for cheaper prices? I'd say go to a dollar store. Worth checking out. :)
